portfolio-demo-kit

Your best work is under NDA, so you can't show it.

portfolio-demo-kit turns a private project into a safe public demo you can put in your portfolio: a page people can click through, an interactive diagram of how it works, a short case study, and a 20-second launch video to post. You decide what stays, what gets replaced with invented data, and what is left out.

Before and after

Before: a private project with names, emails, an API key, client wording and internal links. After: a public demo page with a plain-words summary, a flow diagram, invented examples to try and a note on how it was made safe.

How it works

Six steps: point it at your project; it lists what is sensitive; you decide; it builds the demo; a leak scan fixes and rescans; you publish.
  1. Point it at your project. It reads a copy. Your original files are never changed.
  2. It lists what is sensitive in one table: people's details, your client's know-how, keys and private links. Each row has a suggestion: keep it, replace it with invented data, or leave it out.
  3. You decide. You answer a few questions the code can't: what happens outside the code, what to show off, and what you don't want said in public.
  4. It builds the demo from invented data, running your project's own logic on it where it can. Every result is labelled: a real run, or an example written by Claude.
  5. A leak scan checks the demo's text against your project, including ten fake "canary" strings planted to catch copied rows. If it finds anything, it fixes it and checks again.
  6. You publish it yourself, after reading it, in a new public repository. Nothing is ever published for you.

Examples you can click through

Each one is a live demo page, plus a note on exactly how it was made safe.

The feedback generator demo page, showing its pipeline diagram
Real client project

Psychometric feedback generator

A Google Sheets script that writes role-specific feedback for every question in a personality questionnaire, for every job role. The questions, targets and feedback shown are all invented.

The workstyle feedback writer demo page
Invented project

Workstyle feedback writer

Turns a short workstyle questionnaire into a personal feedback note. The project's own scoring code ran on invented answers.

The support email triage demo page
Invented project

Support email triage

Sorts customer emails by topic and urgency, looks up the order and drafts a reply for a person to check. Includes a safety case, an email in French, an interactive diagram and a launch video.

A launch video, made from the safe demo

After the demo passes its leak scan, the kit can make a 20-second video of it, with an original soundtrack and a ready-to-post caption. It is built only from the public demo, never from the private project, and scanned again before you get it.

Try it (for technical readers)

It is a pair of skills for Claude Code. Install them from inside Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add Jacing142/portfolio-demo-kit
/plugin install portfolio-demo@portfolio-demo-kit

Or, for any agent that supports skills, from a terminal:

npx skills add Jacing142/portfolio-demo-kit

Then, inside your project, ask:

/portfolio-demo

Python 3.11+ is required. Node.js 18+ adds the interactive diagram. The video needs FFmpeg and Playwright; Claude asks before installing them. Full steps, including Windows, are in the README on GitHub.

Safety

  • Use it only on work you are allowed to share, and allowed to send to an AI provider. If you are not sure, ask your client first.
  • It reduces risk. It does not guarantee it. Read every word of the demo before you publish it.
  • It never changes your project, never publishes anything, and never keeps keys or passwords, whatever you choose.
